Most of the malnutrition in children is due to families not knowing how to feed their children including hygiene issues and education problems.  ULS trains the mothers on exclusive breastfeeding, nutrition, prenatal and postnatal care, danger signs of pregnancy, family planning, and other similar subjects. In addition to improving their own health, the women will also encourage other women to have their children vaccinated and dewormed, give birth at the clinic, etc...


Cesar Guerda received her training in 2013 through the ULS mother’s club with the support of the CHEMONICS project. In spite of her difficulties, she was very smart and was able to memorized her lessons. ULS choose her in 2014 for CHA and with the DFID project she obtained the knowledge to become a good CHA.  She now trains other mothers in her locality at the mother’s club.
